This week at the International Conference “Science about the deaf-blind people” organized by Deaf-Blind Support Foundation ''Con-nection'' in Moscow we’ve announced the start of prototyping works for our new device — the Braille tablet.
The Braille tablet — a device which displays the text information using the symbols of the Braille alphabet in multiline format. The unique characteristic of the device is that it's the first multiline instrument among the analogues which is produced in a tablet format and which consists of 70 separate cells displaying the letters to allow to read the text and pushable, as buttons of a keyboard, which allow to type the text.
As we do not use the piezocrystal materials, which are very expensive, a tablet production costs is reduced to 10 times.
Due to the new technology of the tablet internal mechanisms it is possible to use the device in any environments. Moreover, an amount of consumed energy is also reduced as well as a battery size.
We thank the Baker & McKenzie Company which supports us this time again by making volontirely a patent search, preparing a patent application and submission of the documents.
